How to sponsor ACWFC
Adelaide City Women's Football Club is a very fast growing multicultural progressive Club which has been in operation for 11 years. The Club is now the largest and most successful in South Australia. It commenced with one team in 1996 and in the 2007 season fielded 9 teams. The Club caters for senior women's teams and also has a junior division comprising of girls in the Under 17, Under 15, Under 13 and Under 11 age groups with development squads for younger girls.
In 1999 the Club incorporated and moved its operations to the current location at the corner of Hutt Street and South Terrace, Adelaide. At that time it had available to it one sub-standard playing area. An ambitious and expensive plan was embarked upon to establish three flood lit premium playing pitches and the development of Clubroom facilities to accommodate the ever increasing size of our membership.
To this date the facilities have been improved, a bore installed, underground watering system commenced and three pitches have been established. An unfortunate fire at the end of the 2006 season means we will be building exciting new facilities in the coming year.
Women's soccer is the fastest growing sport in the world and the establishment of a National Club competition is imminent. Our Club has ambitions of representing South Australia in such a competition and we believe that realistically we are the only Women's Club with the capacity to do so. The potential exposure is therefore enormous.
